From the Office of the President
May I welcome you all to the 7th Biennial Congress of the Pan African Burn Society being held for the first time in East Africa in the historic town of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the home of ‘Lucy’ the oldest known human skeleton. The dates for the 7th congress are auspiciously from the 6th to the 9th of June, 2017.
The region has been through various struggles and we felt that this is a good time to review the state of “Burns in Africa: The Journey So Far”. This also is the theme for the Congress and it is hoped that this meeting will afford practitioners in the region an opportunity to review past successes and challenges and to chart the course for the way forward. It is also hoped that at this meeting we will unveil progress made with “African Burns” which is the official journal of the Society.
The Local Organising Committee has promised to put together an exciting package of excellent academic presentations in a very warm and relaxed social environment. Make plans to be present at this regional event and partake of the legendary hospitality Ethiopia is known for. Come and visit the birthplace of the African Union.
Looking forward to meeting you all in Addis.
